SAGE Design-Build / September 2024
Our very own Director of Construction, Tyler Troutman, has been recognized as one of Lehigh Valley Business’ 2024 Forty Under 40 honorees!
Forty Under 40 recognizes professionals under the age of 40 who have been successful in the Greater Lehigh Valley area. Honorees, selected by the Lehigh Valley Business leadership team and a panel of previous winners, were chosen based on professional accomplishments, community service and commitment to inspiring change.
“The 2024 Forty Under 40 honorees are accomplished in their careers and also understand the importance of giving back to the community in meaningful ways. In addition, they inspire change and help make the Lehigh Valley the best place to live and work,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of BridgeTower Media/Lehigh Valley Business. “We at Lehigh Valley Business are honored to recognize these current and future leaders of our region.”
LVB recognized both Tyler’s leadership here at SAGE and his commitment to service in the Lehigh Valley at their annual 40 Under 40 Awards on September 12th.
Tyler joined SAGE in April of 2022. Our President, Joe Landrigan comments “Tyler’s integrity and authenticity is evident in the work he performs every day. I’m excited to see the challenges ahead for Tyler with the growth of SAGE and I’m confident that he is up for the challenge and that he will exceed my expectations!”

Q: What differentiates SAGE?
Tyler: SAGE is a small firm but the wisdom embodied in our team is from a culmination of decades of experience in the industry. We leverage each member’s expertise and synthesize it into a collaborative team approach. This allows us to tackle almost any project but with the care and attention it deserves. At SAGE, there are no hand offs between divisions or even people. Our clients truly get to know our team, and that is what makes the SAGE experience so unique.
Q: What advice would you give young leaders?
Tyler: Remembering everyone is a person and to treat them as such. Open and honest communication.
Q: What qualities have made Tyler successful at SAGE?
Joe: He is organized and always prepared for the responsibilities at hand. Through his experience and longstanding relationships with a variety of subcontractors within the industry, Tyler asks the right questions and selects the best team for each project. Tyler understands the importance of selecting subcontractors for a specific project based on their geographic reach, experience, size, and ability to execute the project effectively, while maintaining the overall budget for the project. Tyler leads by example, and by effectively delegating, allows other team members to shine through on the projects. This makes him the leader that he is, a quiet, natural leader.
Q: Describe a favorite memory working with Tyler.
Joe: One significant memory working with Tyler came during a meeting with a potential new client late last year. This meeting was requested by the client as a simple Q&A of our proposal submission. It turns out they expected a full-on presentation of the SAGE experience and how we planned to handle their project! Tyler had already anticipated this and had our entire team prepared with roles and responsibilities for the presentation. He then led the presentation professionally, without any hesitation. In doing so, the rest of our team expertly followed suit. This reinforced my trust in Tyler as our Director of Construction here at SAGE and showed his natural role as a leader.
